Safe Families for Children – Kansas City, MO surrounds families in crisis with caring, compassionate community. We are a nonprofit, volunteer movement that provides hope and support to families in our local community.

Serving the Kansas City area, we create extended family–like supports for desperate families through a community of devoted volunteers who are motivated by faith to keep children safe and keep families intact.

Our Team

The engine behind Safe Families is our faith communities and their volunteers. Our volunteers are a priceless resource bringing transforming support to the Kansas City Metro area families in difficult life situations. There is also a number of staff who passionately invest their lives in growing the movement of Safe Families. Their work includes engaging churches, building the base of volunteers, transitioning children, family coach supervision, vetting and training volunteers, walking along side parents in crisis and helping them to find the resource referrals they need, and so much more.

 

Host a Home Gathering – Calling Church Small Groups – Life Groups – Community Groups:

We work through small groups of people in the local church – do you have small groups, discipleship groups, bible studies or Sunday School class that are interested in keeping kids safe?  We offer something for everyone. Email kansascitymo@safefamilies.net to learn about how your group can serve kids in your very own community. Invite us to your next small group meeting – we’ll facilitate a discussion and let you decide!

 

Safe Families Advocates: 

Become a SF advocate and get exclusive touch points and conference calls with our Founder, Dave Anderson, to hear what’s happening around the nation!  We’ll also provide Safe Families “swag” and unique events in your area to connect with others that care about the work of local faith communities and keeping kids safe.  A monthly gift of $25 will advance our specific local Kansas initiatives to grow in both Southeast and Kansas City Metro regions.
